The Artist's Path Our Vision The Artist’s Path will become a regional, national and international leader in the arts, building bridges between cultures, exploring the source of artistic inspiration, discovering the diversity within the artistic communities of the world, all while examining the role of the artist in society and whether the artist can effect change. Our Mission The Artist's Path exists to encourage, support and showcase artists’ work while educating the public concerning the role of the artist in society through annual events that examine the path of the artist through specific disciplines and themes. The Inaugural Event The Artist's Path through Conflict and Social Crisis April 7 - 17, 2011 The purpose of this event in Prescott, AZ is to explore how artists respond to a world in conflict and social crisis through the discipline of Playwriting. It is hoped in some small way that the event will also serve as a remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and remind us that Peace is always our goal. Arizona playwrights will be invited to present new works in Playwriting addressing the above theme. A specially selected jury will evaluate the plays. The winning entry will receive a cash prize and be staged at the following year's event. In its inaugural year The Artist's Path plans to present three plays and an evening of music as ticketed events. Ensuing years will see the addition of other disciplines in the arts --Poetry, Music, Film, Visual Arts, Dance, and the Humanities--with a different theme each year. A division for artists in junior high and high school is also planned with master classes for the students and the public.
